Applied Kinesiology
-
Applied Kinesiology is a form of diagnosis using muscle testing as a primary feedback mechanism to examine how a person’s body is functioning. AK utilizes a relationship between muscles and organ meridians to determine why the dysfunction or imbalance may be occurring.
-
The philosophy governing the technique of AK is called the Triad of Health which states that whole body health lies in the balance between Structural Health, Nutritional Health, and Emotional Health. In our office we aim to address these three areas of stress and by doing this it can have a profound and compounded healing outcome for the patient.

Absolutely Yes, in fact it can be very helpful to deal with many of the complications associated with pregnancy such as sciatica, pelvic girdle pain, or pubic bone pain. The most important part is to make sure that your chiropractor has specialized training in adjusting pregnant patients. They will also have specialized tables or cushions that allow for the women to lay face down. This allows for the whole treatment process to be comfortable and safe.
-
During pregnancy, a woman’s body is going through many changes to accommodate the growing baby. As the baby grows, a mother’s center of gravity shifts to the front of her pelvis, which can result in added stress and discomfort in the lower back and the joints of the pelvis. When the curve in the lower back increases from the additional weight in the front of the body this can put more strain on the vertebral joints, the sacrum, and the hip joints. When the spine is compressed, these nerves can become irritated causing the pain to radiate down into the buttocks and legs. Sciatica is a condition commonly stimulated by pregnancy.
-
Regular Chiropractic Care during Pregnancy can help relieve spinal nerve stress from the back and prevent compression of spinal nerves by adjusting your spine's alignment. This may also improve the fetal position during birth and even help to shorten overall labor and delivery time.
-
Ideally as soon as they find out that they are pregnant. This allows for correction of any previous postural distortions that may put increased stress on their lower back and pelvis, potentially complicating their pregnancy.

Pediatric & Childrens Chiropractic Care
-
As a child learns to crawl, walk, run, and tumble, they are constantly in a state of play and discovery. While small stumbles may not seem to cause extensive discomfort, they can cause minor shifts in the child’s musculoskeletal system that set the stage for subluxations. Misalignments caused in the spinal nerves can interfere in the efficient functioning of the child’s nervous system. Misalignments can potentially harm the body’s ability to function in an optimal manner, potentially leading to ear infections, headaches, asthma, and much more. Pediatric and Childrens chiropractic care is essential to correct these misalignments, which in turn improves a child’s wellness and helps to prevent future problems.
-
Some of the many benefits of chiropractic care for children include improved sleep, improved immune function, improved attitude and behavior, improved nervous system function, and improved brain development. We see many improvements in the kids in our practice such as getting sick less, decreased ear infections, less colic and digestive issues, improved concentration and much more.
“Chiropractic care is not about keeping children in a bubble, it’s about making sure your child’s body is built to endure whatever life throws at it.”
